What we build, and who it’s for

A website is often the first proof a stranger has that your business is real. We build it to hold up under that, then leave you able to run it.

TEJ is a Dublin studio doing web design and development for startups building a digital product, small businesses setting up or refreshing their online presence, e-commerce brands, gaming and entertainment companies, Web3 ventures, and creative agencies who need a full-stack partner. You deal with Jason, who builds it. No project manager in between, no subcontracting out.

The brief decides the build. Some clients need a marketing website or shop they can log in and edit themselves without ringing us every time. Others need a custom web app or a platform that doesn’t exist off-the-shelf. We build both, and we’ll tell you straight which one your project actually needs rather than upselling you into the wrong one. Once it’s live it needs somewhere to run and someone watching it. We handle hosting, keep the SSL certificate and backups current, and offer ongoing care plans so it stays fast and secure after launch, not just on the day it ships.

What it costs, and what moves the number

We quote per project rather than off a price list, because a five-page brochure site and a login-gated web app aren’t the same job. Tell us the brief and you get a fixed quote back, not a range that grows once we start.

What pushes the number up: custom functionality instead of off-the-shelf plugins, more unique page templates, e-commerce with real inventory or payment logic, integrations with systems you already run, and anything that needs building in React and Node rather than configured in WordPress. What keeps it down: a smaller page count, an existing brand identity rather than one designed from zero, and content you supply ready to go rather than needing us to write it.

Timeline moves with the same factors. A straightforward WordPress build typically runs to weeks; a custom web app runs to months, because there’s more to design, build and test properly. We tell you which applies to your project, and give you a timeline, before you commit to anything.

Common questions

How long does a website or web app take?

Depends on the complexity. A simple website can take weeks; a custom web app can take several months. You get a timeline at the outset, once we know what you actually need.

What does it cost?

We quote per project rather than publish a price list, because a brochure site and a custom web app aren’t comparable jobs. Tell us the brief and you’ll get a fixed quote back quickly, not a range that grows later.

Will it work properly on mobile?

Yes. Every build is designed mobile-first and adapts to phone, tablet and desktop, not bolted on afterwards.

What technology do you actually build in?

Whichever fits the job. WordPress for sites you need to edit yourself and want live faster and cheaper, React and Node for custom web apps and platforms. We choose based on performance, scalability and what you’ll need to grow into, and say which upfront.

Can I update the site myself once it’s live?

On a WordPress build, yes, that’s the point. On a custom React and Node build it depends what “update” means: content changes can be built to be editable, but structural or functional changes go through us. We’ll tell you which applies before you sign off the build.

Do you host it, and what happens if something breaks?

We can host it, keep the SSL certificate and backups current, and put it on an ongoing care plan so it’s someone’s job to notice if something goes wrong, not yours.

What happens after launch?

Ongoing support, updates, training on how to use what you’ve been given, and optimisation as you learn what your audience actually does on the site. It doesn’t stop the day it goes live.

Do you build e-commerce sites?

Yes. We build for e-commerce brands who need performance and scale as well as marketing sites and web apps, and we’ll tell you honestly whether WordPress or a custom build suits your catalogue and checkout.

Do you only work with big companies?

No. We build for startups getting a first product or SaaS platform live, small businesses that need a proper online presence, and everything up through gaming, entertainment and Web3 ventures. The build is sized to the client, not the other way round.
