THE CHALLENGE
This project was a full ecommerce web design project. The brief was to completly rebuild Cornucopia’s website, giving it an entirely new design as well as creating a whole new set of functionalities that the team had wanted to implement. The website needed to be mobile responsive and SSL certified. The online shop that was developed to facilitate the sale of cookbooks, as well as the newly created gift voucher functionality. The shop also needed to have a section that could be tunred on and off to include their seasonal Christmas meals each year. A full SEO strategy was not part of the brief however basic on page SEO was carried out.
THE APPROACH
The design featured a full-width modern layout, with a large emphasis on some key hero food shots. For any restaurant, the menu is one of the most essential pieces of content to have on their website. The tricky part about Cornucopia’s menu was just how extensive it was as it changes daily. There were a number of other functionalities that we’re included in this web build. Mailchimp was intergrated with WooCommerce to automatically segment new customers into an email marketing list. A spotify playlist was included along side a virtual tour to give users a taste of the Cornucopia experience. We also created a versatile gift voucher system that could be redeemed both in store as well as online through both email print outs and physical gift cards.
