
THE CONCEPT
For the launch of their latest shoe featuring BOOST technology, Adidas wanted to create an AR filter for Instagram that transported the user to space. This was a dual-camera effect filter, meaning there were different effects depending on which camera the user was operating.
On the front camera, a 3D astronaut helmet model was tracked to the user’s head. There was a reflective visor animation and also a camera shake animation to give the feeling of a rocket launch. This was triggered when the user opened their mouth
On the back camera, using plane tracking, a portal door was tracked to the nearest available flat surface. The doors open and a rocket launches up into the sky.
